The Story So Far...

In 2003 N.B. Marine Services was founded and was operational (and busy!!) from a standing start. I very quickly gained many great contacts in both private and trade sectors within the industry. Our biggest customer at this time was Orchard Marina where I was their sole engineer and coachpainter. "Pleasure in the Job Puts Perfection in Our Work!"As my expertise grew so did my client base, and my reputation has taken me around the UK and Europe. Dear Nick, This is just to say thank you for the years you worked for me at Orchard as a sub contractor. You lived up to the high standard of work we endeavoured to undertake, your attention to detail in the work we did helped give us the name we had on the system for being one of the top boatyards for paintwork also along with that was the approach you had toward our customers who I know all spoke highly of you. N.B. Marine Services is run by myself, Nick Bancroft a narrowboat specialist with several years experience and a broad expertise.
I started my career as a car mechanic, which gave me the engineering skills to apply to canal boat engine servicing. I spent 4 years building my
skills working for a busy hire fleet in Anderton, Cheshire, quickly progressing through the ranks to Senior Engineer.
Moving from Anderton, I joined the team at a major marine distribution
company based in Nantwich, as Assistant Manager. This role gave me a significant insight into the sourcing of quality parts and materials
for narrowboats, a knowledge I have since been able to readily share with my customers.
